Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

time limit to carry out will

my sons were named in their grandmothers' will. she died three years ago. My ex their father got himself to be named executor and has yet to dispurse her assets. He always has some excuse and we are afraid he's going through the money. Is there a time limit and what can we do? Thank you!

Re: time limit to carry out will

I suggest retaining a local attorney. Make a demand for an accounting and, if necessary do it through the Surrogate's Court. If he has mishandled the estate, he can be personally responsible to return the assets your children are entitled to receive. This should be done as soon as possible.

You have waited too long. Retain an attorney in Nevada to find out what is going on.
