Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York

Permenant disabilty,

Hi,here goes. IT was agreed that i have a permenant partial disability and that workers comp would be paying me $375 a week back since 1998.Theinsurance carrier just sent me a letter saying they want me to see a independant medical exaimer, or they will cut my payment.Can this be done? i mean they agreed to pay me how can they say now they want me to see their doc, my cas ewas closed in 1998.That was sthe agreement with my lawyer and the insurance carrier.
