Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York

WC Retainers?

I signed a notice of retainer and appearance on behalf of employer agreement in a workers comp case. I gave a check and was told the actual retainer would be sent in a few days and I would have a chance to review it for 3 days and the money refunded if I wasn't happy with the terms.

I don't know enough about this, but I'm not that comfortable with it. Is this the way things are done? Is the money always returned if I don't like the terms of the retainer? What should I do?

They are really lovely people and I know they want to help, but I do have trust issues and need to know if this is all OK. PLEASE advise ASAP. Thanks!
