Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

I filed a motion to change venue to change the case to be heard in another county. The hearing date has been set for April 29. What should I bring to show that the case should change to another place? I have never lived in the place the case was filed in.

You need to bring the law you rely on and proof of your residence. There are many reasons why a case can be set where it has been. I see you posted this under Family law, so I will assume that is the subject matter of the suit. Lawsuits can typically be filed wherever ONE of the parties lives or where the controversy happened. There are other reasons why a case can be heard in a particular Court. You need to ensure that the current Court CANNOT hear the case.

To get a case moved, you have to show that the Court has no venue at all to hear the case, not just that another venue might be better.
