Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

Out of State Divorce

I moved to Louisiana in May, 2006. Before moving here, I was separated from my estranged husband. We have been separated since February 6, 2005. I am wondering where I would file for divorce, North Carolina or Louisiana. He still resides in NC. I'm also wondering about how much it would cost? I have looked into a do it yourself form, but was wondering about how much that would cost as well to file the form. Any advise, would be greatly appreciated.

Since you're the one doing the filing, you should file it in Louisiana. I do not know if they have "do it yourself" simple divorces there, but you can call your local court's clerk's office to find out.
