Legal Question in Intellectual Property in North Carolina

sales of joint produced music

The band I was in produced a cd that had some of my copyrighted songs on them. The band is now defunked. One member wants to split up the remaining cd's equally. He intends to sell them at his place of business. Am I entitled to a portion of the sales for my songs and/or the cd which was copyrighted under the bands' name.?

Yes, if you have copyrights for the songs at issue, you would be entitled to royalties for their use.
