With that amount of medical expenses and injuries, you probably need to consult with an attorney and provide him or her with more information to assess your rights and options. You may have "liability" insurance and "Underinsured" motorist coverage, and you may have future medical expenses, and a loss of earnings. Only a skilled lawyer with experience in this area and with more information can address the value of your claim. In North Carolina, if the driver was at fault, then you can recover your past and future medical expenses, your lost earnings, and pain-and-suffering. Feel free to contact if you need further information.
