Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

have a one acre lot that is in my and my ex-husands name. He had a judgement of 21,000 dollars put on him by some company 5 years after we divorced. Now I am being told they attached the judgement to my property. How can I sell the lot withouot the monet going to the judgement?

Unfortunately, you can't. They have a lien on the property and any buyer will make paying off the lien a condition of the sale.
