Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

I currently own a house w/ my partner. There is a rather large outstanding mortgage loan on the house and we are separating - the loan as well as the deed is in both our names. He refuses to sell the property. What are my obligations for the loan payments if I leave him and the house?

If you signed the promissory note, you are obligated on the loan. You may want to consult with an attorney in your area as there are legal steps you may be able to take to force a sale or at least threaten to so that you can reach a settlement.
