Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina

I was recently in an accident. No one was injured and I have proof from the insurance company that I have taken care of the other persons damage. I was told by someone that with no one being injured and me taking the proof of insurance claim taken care of to court the ticket would be dismissed. Is this true or is there anything I can do to get it dismissed?
