Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in North Carolina

What are children entitled to for inheritance under North Carolina law?

Wondering what the N.C. laws are for inheritance for biological adult children. Also, wondering if a will can deny children of a state sanctioned inheritance. Situation in brief: elderly, vindictive father likely to try to not leave anything to one daughter. The daughter's concern is the hurtful and unjust impact this will have on a grandchild, her child. Amount not significant...principle is.
