Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in North Carolina

My mother died with out a will in nc. She left a house and there are three children. One brother has lived in the house since her death -28 years. Now we have found out the taxes are 3 years behind and there is no insurance on the house. How can we (other two children) protect our interest in the house

you need a lawyer to sue him for partition.
