Can you change your Lawyer after you have gone through most of the litigation, but your lawyer is dragging their feet in getting the case settled?

You can attempt to change lawyers, but it may not be a good idea to do so. And good luck getting another lawyer to take your case at that stage. There is an old saying about "changing horses in the middle of the stream" being difficult, and your interest in changing lawyers during litigation is sort of like changing horses.

Why do you think your lawyer is dragging his feet getting your case settled? It takes both parties to work out a settlement. The delay in settlement may have nothing to do with your lawyer. Or, the testimony at the hearing may have greatly reduced your settlement possiblities, such that a reasonable settlement is not even possible for you now.

I would suggest you sit down with your lawyer and have a good discussion about your options at this point, and what you want to accomplish. That way you can be fully informed and your lawyer will know exactly what you want to do.
