Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

Returned Check

Im going to try to make this long story short! Last year I wrote my friend a check for an item, within a day I returned the item, my friend deposited the check and withdraw the funds before the check cleared. I put a stop payment on the check but it was too late. I was contacted by my friends bank about this issue once, my friend said it was put into bankrupcy. Now my friends bank is trying to press charges against me. I called to pay the check but it has been sent to cuyahoga county prosecutor, I tried to call the prosecutor but the case has not been assaign to a prosecutor. Is there a way I can pay this returned check before it goes any further and or court.

Please Help!!!!

Re: Returned Check

Most prosecutor's offices have policies for resoving bad check charges without criminal charges being filed. I assume Cuyahoga County has such a policy although I don't know for sure. I see from your zip code that you're in Canton. I'm in Canton too. If you want to discuss it, you can send me an email at [email protected] and I can give you my phone number.
