Legal Question in Insurance Law in Ohio

Financial Responsibility in Automobile Accidents.

I was rear-ended by a Sherrif Deputy. Ohio Revised Code states that any state owned vehicle, or municipality of the state, is exempt from financial obligation. Therefore, I have to either make a claim on my insurance (which will cause it to raise) or pay for it out of pocket. How many other states has the same law in effect?

I believe you're mistaken in your belief that the county is immune from liability under the circumstances described. See Revised Code Chapter 2744.
