what will happen to my 15 y.o. in court ?

son stole 800.00 item from school sold it on ebay. He admitted guilt we are attempting to replace it prior to court date of jan.30th but not much time.H e also a couple years ago got caught taking an item at walmart he never went to court he took class and paid 50.00 will that show up also?I want him to pay the 800.00 back rather than spend it on att.fee if he's already admitted guilt is this wise? what are the typical sentences for this kind of case? he's a good student plays basketball for his school has been punished by school and home also.Ross is exceptionally smart this behavior baffled us he is not into drugs i do know this.I think this time he has learned a lesson but it's not near over.any help would be very much appreciated. what about the ebay person who bought this ?

The most important thing is to pay back the $800. You have the right idea. The person that bought the item will get to keep it if he had no reason to think it was stolen. The previous offense should be there if it went to court before, and would not be there if it was handled outside of court. Having a lawyer is still necessary but after the debt is paid, even if you need to buy time by asking for more time to get a lawyer. A lawyer could get a deal that leaves nothing on your son's record.
