Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Ohio

I applied for a rental house and was denied because I had been a plantiff in a court case. This seems like they are saying I should not be able to exercise my right as an American to file a law suit if I feel I have been taken advantage of and that feels like discrimination to me. Is that a legal excuse? There were so many other excuses thay could have given. You can email me the answer if you like.

Thanks

It does not sound like a viable reason but I would need more facts. For example, how many properties does this landlord own? What was the lawsuit for?

Something definitely sounds strange for them to deny you based on this.
