Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Ohio

I have been transferred by my company to another state and my landlord will not let me out of my lease. I have to be on the job Sept. 1 and he wants me to pay my rent through Dec. I am having a hard time with expenses now and this makes it very hard for me to rent a decent place where I am relocating. Isn't relocation a reason to break the lease. I am up to date on my rent. HELP thank you very much

It would depend on what your lease says. However, your landlord has to attempt to rent the place and can't simply charge you rent.

Feel free to contact me, free of charge, at [email protected] or 330-447-7634. I am happy to help in any way that I can. It may be that all that is needed is a letter from an attorney, which I am happy to do.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Have a great day.
