In Ohio, if the lease is month to month, then the process of terminating it or changing its conditions is governed by Ohio Revised Code Section 5321.17. You can find a plain English summary of it here: http://www.ohiolandlordtenant.com/faq20.html

You have prosessor rights as a primary tenant and a verbal agreement with the Landlord that is legally enforceable. If you agree or impliedly agree with the Landlord's unilateral modifications of your original verbal contract to lease the property then you have established new terms and conditions to the original contract.

The botton-line: you cannot not be evicted unless the Landlord complies with the notice and procedural eviction laws in your state. Remember, the law usually favors the Landlord's right to control his property so eviction usually favors the Landloed.
