Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Ohio

Security Deposit

Did not sign a lease agreement, but paid a application fee, and a deposit. Approved for the apartment, but changed my mind, now they are telling me that my deposit is nonrefundable. I was told that my application fee was non refundable, which that I understand, but I didn't sign a lease, so I should get the security deposit back, right? What should I do?

Re: Security Deposit

If te apartment is unrented for te month you agreed to take it, they can hold your money. However, if it is rented they have lost nothing and should give you your money back. Otherwise its your apartment for that period of time.
