Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio

Can we do anything about high school football illegal hits when it causes blunt force trauma and possibly die from it.

Can we file anything against the kids parents?

It is very unlikely that you would have a cause of action against the kid or his parents unless you can prove the hit was intentional or reckless. As you know kids assume the risks inherent in the game when they decide to play football. If your son did sustain a permanent injury as a result of a blow to the head it may be worth investigating other various causes of action such as negligence against the school (this wil depend on whether the school is public or private) or a product liability action against the helmet manufacturer. Although it is a longshot if your son did sustain a permanent injury (I certainly hope he didn't) I would like to discuss this with you in greater detail. Feel free to call me at 216-781-2600.
