Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy that included my house. My bank started the foreclosure process, but then stopped the process stating they had made a business decision to walk away from the property, but still has a lein on the property and says we can pay for it whenever we feel like it and even offered to settle for twenty percent less. Again this was discharged. We would like to get the property out of our name, but the bank is not interested in pursuing the property. What are my options or your suggestions?

I am sorry to hear about your circumstances. Unfortunately, I do not practice bankruptcy law; therefore, I am not going to be able to answer your specific question, nor will I be representing you. I urge you to consult immediately with a bankruptcy lawyer regarding your potential legal rights. Your local bar association may have a lawyer referral service that can provide you with the names of some lawyers near you who handle these types of matters. In the alternative, you may want to contact the Columbus Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service (telephone number 614-221-4112; web address http://www.peoplesbar.org/findingalawyer/referral_form.php). I am sorry I cannot help you.
