Legal Question in Tax Law in Ohio

City income tax

What can I do to stop judgement on Middletown Ohio, on city taxes.

My wife and I was with my son who had surgery the day of court. The court was contacted. Still they made judgement on us. The judgement was for 2001 and 2002 taxes. We moved out of Middletown June 2002. How can I obtain a copy of 2001and 2002 Federal Tax retirn. I have copy of my2001 and 2002 W2. My wife is not able to obtain her copies of 2001 or 2002 W2. How can we stop the judgement and get copies of 2001 and 2002 Federal tax returns. The name on the judgement is not my name.

Thank you

Re: City income tax

A request for the 2001 and 2002 tax returns and W-2's can be made to the IRS, or request can be made directly to the employer for the W-2's.

The best way to work with the city is communication and cooperation. Explaination needs to be made that you are working on getting the information to solve the problem, and that you moved out of the city in mid-2002.

I don't understand why the judgment is not in your name.
