Legal Question in Tax Law in Ohio

I got a paper regular mail.

And it says i have to give a Deposition in Front of a Notary Public and wondering does this mean i am going to jail?

And it says the plaintiff is state of ohio tax department.

It sounds like you are being sued by the state of Ohio for unpaid taxes. A deposition is when you go and answer questions under oath in front of a court reporter. This will not determine whether you are liable for back taxes...that will happen at trial. I strongly suggest you find a tax atty to go with you to the depo so you're not taken advantage of. If you are found liable for not paying your taxes there is very little chance you could go to jail unless you are also charged with a related crime like fraud, tax evasion or something else. If that's the case you must get a lawyer immediately. Why not try checking with the courts docket which is usually available on line to try and figure what this lawsuit is all about. If you're being sued you must have had notice of this lawsuit before getting the deposition notice.
