Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio

Accident with motorcycle

My wife was in an accident some months ago, wherein she turned in front of a motorcycle at an intersection at night. The motorcycle rider had a permit and was out after dark, my wife said she didn't see him at all. Police and insurance ruled against her and now she is ''stuck'' with a $4000 repair bill! They all say she has no choice but to pay or declare bankruptcy, but we have NOT seen any documentation on how someone laying their bike down on the ground and sliding to a stop could possibly do $4000 damage to a simple Honda bike?! I cry foul, but they say too bad. Is there any way to fight this? Help!

Re: Accident with motorcycle

Was your wife covered by insurance??

Was there a judgment against her in court, or a lawsuit filed for that matter? Did the motorcyclist receive medical attention? There are a number of resolutions depending on facts.
