my mother passed away 1993 no estate was filed i need a letter of authority to claim some back child support payments. how do i get this

A letter of authority is the document given to the executor or administrator of an estate.

You will need to apply to the probate court to be appointed administrator or if there is a will the person named in the will can be appointed executor.
