We are 71 yrs old. We have a will, a living will and a pod. Is it nessesary for us to have a trust. We don't have alot of money or other assets

If you have few assets, you may want to avoid probate court, which the will imposes, and also you may want to avoid the expense of creating a trust. POD accounts and TOD deeds are useful tools in that they avoid probate court costs and the expense of a trust.

A teust may be useful depending on your objectives. A revocable living trust may be useful if you want the details of your estate administration private. If, on the other hand, you are concerned about becoming eligible for Medicaid for nursing home purposes, an irrevocable trust might better fill the bill.
