Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Oklahoma

rental

I have a house that I used to rent out but opted not to rent anylonger. my delima is we had a niece and her boyfriend come here to stay with us and the guy used our rental house as his legal residence without our knowledge, now he got the cops and kicked the door in to the property and the police gave him permission since his drivers license had that rental address on it, he never lived in the property just had some stuff stored there. No one had the key to the front door but I had access thru the back door and advised the officer of this several times, the officer kept telling the kid to kick the door in if this was his residence and he busted the door and lock while I was on the way to enter the back door. I want to know what is my course of action, I have submitted a claim to the city and was denied, was told the officer was correct in his telling the kid to kick the door in to gain entry and remove property

Re: rental

This would be difficult to answer without more information surrounding the circumstances because it is not common practice for a police officer to kick in a door without probable cause.
