MIP charge

I am 18 and I got an MIP. The cop asked me who bought the beer and said if I don't tell him he will take me to jail. Do I have to tell him?

The police usually have wide discretion whether to issue a citation or to arrest a person and take them to jail. However, you should NEVER answer any questions of the police until you are represented by an attorney. You are under no obligation to tell the police anything!
