Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Oklahoma

Is it Discrimination?

I work for a company as a receptionist/and anything else asked.. I have worked here since May, about 2 weeks ago I heard a rumor that they were replacing me with someone else and in which they did, even though i have not been fired but The gentelman was hired for the same position i have but he was offerd twice the amount of money I make. I am a female and my boss told me i could not handle my job. I think they are waiting for me to quit, which i will not do. Is this legal.

thank you

Re: Is it Discrimination?

Discrimination on a receptionist position would be difficult to understand. But there are things you have indicated that sound discriminatory. Paying twice what you made is fishy. However, as you indicated your duties included much more than receptionist. Perhaps this man is doing much more than receptionist work and even duties you were not required to do. It sort of sounds like this a small company that you work for and they intend for you to remain as receptionist and he doing some of the other non-receptionist duties. Get an appointment with an attorney and explain your facts in greater detail.
