Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Oregon

I have an ex boyfriend that says if I don't pay him $6000 in two weeks he will take legal action against me. He says it is from a line of credit that we used together when we were together 8 years ago. I don't have good enough credit to get my own loan, filed for bankruptcy soon after the break up and my seasonal work does not give enough money to save anything. What are my rights if any

A better question is: What are your ex-boyfriend's rights. They are likely to be none.

If you had an agreement 8 years ago, under which you would pay half of the charges for the credit line, I assume you stopped making the payments about 8 years ago, thus breaching the agreement at that time. Your boyfriend had 6 years to bring suit against you for that breach. He apparently failed to do so and cannot sue you now for that breach.

If you successfully filed bankruptcy, then whatever you owed to him was discharged (nullified) anyway.
