Legal Question in Personal Injury in Oregon

I was injured when a golf cart driven by the club pro ran into the back of my golf cart, causing neck problems. I then mentioned the accident online in a discussion group. If I file a lawsuit against the party that hit me, can my comments online hurt my case?

Your online comments can hurt your case, if they amount to an "admission against interest." For example, say you put this comment online: "The accident was my fault." Or "I am not hurt but will pretend to be hurt." Yes, such comments can be used against you.

I do not handle cases like this, but the law firm of Kafoury McDougal in Portland does. You can reach them at 503-224-2647 or [email protected]. They provide an initial consultation visit for you at no charge, and they usually take cases on a "contingency" basis, which means that you do not have to pay them, unless they succeed in obtaining money for you from the entity that harmed you.
