Legal Question in Family Law in Pakistan

i am a 25 year old female and i want a divorce. there was no rukhsat just signatures. what if there is nothing written in column 18 on the nikah nama. Its left blank. Can i still go to the arbitration council for a divorce or will i hv to go to a court?

You can still file suit for KHULA in court without going to Arbitration Council, but you had better to go there first for reconciliation purpose. Because in several cases (depend upon facts) court may refer you to Arbitration Council.

If u need divorce on the basis of khula you have to file a suit in family court. if Rukhsati is not take place then there is no need for iddat , as u get decree from court u can get talaq certificate immediately.
