in a criminal case, you have a right to an appeal to the superior court. you should contact the sentencing judge as soon as possible and ask for that judge to appoint you a free lawyer.

appeals are very expensive in part because of the outrageous practice of the superior court not accepting electronic copies of the reproduced record. In the last case I did the superior court I spent over $3,000 in copying costs that would have been only about $400 if they were emails. So, understand that when the lawyer quotes numbers on an appeal in PA there are big costs involved.
