Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Pennsylvania

What happens when/if we file bancruptcy?

We are having financial difficulties, my husband is employed and I am looking for a job but we are rapidly approaching the time where we will not be able to pay all our bills. Our debt is considerable and includes a car, trailer (camping) house and many credit cards.

We are current on the house, car, trailer, insurance and all those things. But we are currently working with Elimidebt trying to do something about the credit cards. The credit cards are going to start showing late due to interim changes with the contracts etc... that Elimidebt is doing. Up until now we were current on everything.

If I can't find a job we are not going to be able to manage all these payments.

Is it possible to file bancruptcy on the credit cards and not on the house and the car? We have never made a house payment late, and our grown children and grandchildren also live in the house and we don't want to lose it.

My husbands pay would more than adequately pay living expenses including the car payment if we did not have all the credit card payments.

Would we lose the house if we file bancruptcy? Would the creditors be able to put liens on the house?

Are there any other options abailable to us?

Thank you for your help.

Re: What happens when/if we file bancruptcy?

You would be able to file bankruptcy and keep paying your house mortgage and your car loans. The credit card companies would not be able to place a lien on your home. PLEASE READ MY FIRM PHILOSOPHY.
