Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Dell computer says I owe them $2200. I don't but I don''t want the 2 year old computer because it has been constantly breaking down and I've been paying to have it fixed ( 3 times) and it doesn't work properly now still. My question is can I return the computer and then its done?

Read your agreement. Owing money and having a defective computer are two entirely separate things. You owe them money under your finance agreement. Whether the computer works or not is different. You need to read the warranty if it has not expired as they may have to give you a new one after repair efforts have been exhausted.

If your warranty has expired, you may be out of luck (I do not have the papers, so I do not know for sure). If that is the case, see if Dell will be willing to settle the debt for less than $2200. Get any settlements in writing before you send them any money.

This is outrageous anyway. Laptops and computers are not that expensive. Next time, save up and buy the computer outright anddon't go through Dell Finance.
