Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

I have a judgement against me for a credit card debt. I received papers from the collection agency saying I had to fill out the papers and have them notarized or i will be sorry.

I do not want to give out all my personal information to people I do not know or trust.

What is my legal rights?

Thank You

It sounds to me like they have sent you Interrogatories in Aid of Execution. They are entitled by law to ask for a list of your assets so that they may try to execute on those assets to satisfy the judgment that they have. If you do not answer them, they may go to a judge and ask him to compel you to answer.

It always makes me cringe when I hear that someone has allowed a collection agency to obtain a judgment against them. A collection agency should almost never be able to obtain a judgment, they simply can NEVER prove their case in court. If you are sued by a collection agency in the future, consult my office or the office of another consumer attorney. For a few hundred dollars, you can have an attorney defend the case and likely have it thrown out of court.
