Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

what happens when you don't pay a credit card bill and it went to small claims court. You don't show up and the ruling was against you. Will you go to jail also will this be taking off your credit score after 7 years

Unfortunately what happens is that the debt that could have fallen off your credit report in seven years becomes a judgment that will remain on a credit report for up to 20 years or seven years if paid/satisfied.

No, you won't go to jail for failing to pay the judgment, but the sheriff can be ordered to sell all your stuff. The only ways to erase the debt now are to pay it off, open the case by seeking to set aside the default, or declaring bankruptcy and having the debt discharged. In the last case, the bankruptcy will remain on your credit record for up to 10 years.
