statute of limitations on debt collections

I am being called by 2 different debt collection agencies for debts that are 6 yrs old. Is the statute of limitations based on the state I live in now or where the debt was originally occurred?

It's based on where the suit is filed. Pennsylvania is 4 years in contract.
