Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Accused of stealing

I was recently suspended from my job as a manager after almost 4 years due to the fact that there are bank deposits missing. This happened in August, it is now November. I guess they just found out. Now the owner of the company says they are going to take legal actions. I did not take this money and am afraid of what will happen. I know that they have nothing to point to suspecting that I took it, however I was in charge of deposits. Can I be convicted of something just because I can't prove I didn't do it?

Re: Accused of stealing

You need to speak to an attorney. I recently had a client in a similar situation and they spoke to the police before speaking with me. They stated they took the deposits to the bank, but bank cameras didn't see the person. The client latere told me they did not know for sure that they took them. In that case the fact that there was a lack of evidence to support the story was damaging. If the amount is small enough it may pay to have the lawyer negotiate a payament on your behalf to forestall criminal charges, I offer free consultations.
