what is the possible punishment (penalty) for a first time possesion charge with intent to sell, of 1 pound of mariuana?

I answered this in part but not fully. You are not in the mandatory minimum range but you are over the possession of a small amount range.

The bad news is that the intent to deliver makes it a felony. Imprisonment not to exceed three years and a fine not to exceed $10,000.
