Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

I am a Pennsylvanian in the ARD program for possession of a small amount of marijuana. I have completed all community service paid a quarter of my fine and am three months into the program. I just received a speeding citation and wondered if this wouldl be grounds for removal. Also what is my best course of action regarding my plea of guilt or innocence on the ticket.

Generally, only a "major" motor vehicle violation would be a problem....

If you think the ticket was wrongly issued, or if you believe there may be room to bargain down the fine and/or points, then go ahead and plead not guilty.

Getting a lawyer may help get the ticket downgraded or dismissed, and in my experience, most attorneys will go to a district justice for under $500.00....if you save money on the fine and get less points ( this will be less money on your insurance costs) it is well worth the costs of an attorney.

Speeding citations, or any citation for that matter typically does not violate ARD. Typically, you would have to be at the very least arrested for a misdemeanor.

As far as the ticket, 99% of the speeding tickets we defend end up with a substantial reduction in points and well over half of the speeding cases we have handled in the past end up with an agreement to zero points. As a former Senior Deputy District Attorney, I have found that my background as a prosecutor helps immensely to get the points knocked down.
