Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Plea

I was suppose to have a motions hearing it was continued since the D.A. offered a plea. We accepted the plea. I want to know the time frame for the judge to hear and sign off on this agreement. Will it be a month or more or less? Is this up to the judge?

Re: Plea

it's really up to your lawyer to agitate the court administrator for an early opportunity to enter a plea and perhaps even shop for a judge in a multi-judge county.

the court administrator will get a name from a list from the DA's where there is completed paperwork - eventually.

at time of plea colloquoy, you will have already sumitted a written q & a about the waiver of trial rights, etc. and you may then extend matters further by requesting a pre-sentence investigation (PSI) or get sentenced to the deal amount on the spot.

good luck
