Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Possession in PA

I was camping on the Delaware river. The troopers came into our campsite and said they smell marijuana. They searched everyone and all or gear. In my bag I had a cigarrette box with 4 joints in there. the trooper gave me a summons to appear in Federal court. The charge is possession of a controlled substance for personal use. She said the fine will be $300-$500. I have a clean record, not even a parking ticket. What can I expect at court? Will, there be jail time for this, or just pay the fine. They said the court date will be in Scranton. Let me know what to expect and what will this do to my record?

Perhaps some one else can answer this question. Since you are apparently going to Court in the Middle District an attorney who regularly practices in Federal Court in that District can better answer your question.
