probation violation

2 weeks ago i was driving my friends car and we went to the gas station she got out and pumped the gas and got back in,at the time i assumed she used her credit card/i then drove off and went to the burger king a block away.a detective came over to us and said we didnt pay and needed to go back and do so.we went back a paid then we left we later found out that they are pressing charges on us,i would like to know that since im on probation how much time will i go to jail for a probation violation and what will happen when i go to court for leaving without paying.i have a prior record for retail theft and i also have a felony.im on probation for 3 yrs and im really concerned on whats gonna happen.and will it help that when we go to court that she is gonna be there to say i didnt know that she didnt pay?please help

If you did not know she was not paying for the gas then you did not commit a crime nor violate probation. Her testimony that you did not know is essential to prove your innocence. While if she takes the 5th ammendment you probably can still be found not guilty, you may still have a problem with probation. I highly recommend you secure an attorney to deal with this situation.
