Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Statue of Limitations

My sister was fired from a B&B she worked at for 10 years. Now, almost a year after she was let go, the owner contacted the police stating that my Sister stole from her. Is there a limitation issue here? What kind of proof will the owner need for something like this.

Re: Statue of Limitations

The statute of limitations for theft in Pennsylvania is 5 years. The owner's testimony may not be enough after this length of time, however, and unless it was from a bank account or something tangible like a watch or ring, it may be difficult for the owner to prove that a theft occurred.
