Legal Question in DUI Law in Pennsylvania

DUI car parked hit by a drunk driver.

I was told that I should be able to bring a case for the value of my car that was totaled by a drunk driver. I wasn't in the car, however my car was parked. How true is that and how do I go about doing that. Do I need a lawyer. I already know what the value of my car was.

Re: DUI car parked hit by a drunk driver.

There are 2 ways to proceed. If the driver had insurance, you can go directly through that company to recover the fair market value of the vehicle + rental car (probably at $20/day). If the driver did not have insurance, you can obtain restitution through the criminal prosecution. This will take longer. you can contact the local District Attorneys Office to accomplish this.

If you would like to discuss this further, please contact me directly.
