Procedures and requirements vary from county to

county. In most cases you will need a lawyer to

waive (not have) the preliminary hearing and concurrently apply for the ARD program. ARD is

a pretrial disposition that allows you resolve a first offence (DUI or otherwise) without going to

trial and having a conviction. You will also avoid a one year license suspension, although you may lose your license for a month or two. In any case, an attorney can help you avoid mistakes and get you through the process as painlessly as

Everyone charged with a criminal defense needs representation. If there is no other offense, you should be eligible for the ARD program. If you keep out of trouble for a year the charges are dropped and the arrest is expunged. I offer free consultations.
