Am I violating a visitation order?

I am a divorced woman with a 9yr old son. I have custody and my ex-husband has visitation. After many years of having problems with his father, my son has decided he wants to 'take a break' from seeing/talking to his dad for a while and told him this over the phone. Two days later, my ex called and is threatening to take me to court. Does my son have the right to choose when he wants to see him or not? I have never and will never get in the way of them having a relationship and have had to encourage my ex to be more active many time over the last 9 years. But if my son doesn't want to see him for awhile, am I breaking the law by supporting his wishes?

Unless your ex-husband will agree in writting, the only way to stop the visitation is to get a Court order. Your son's unwillingness to see his father is the significant change in cirumstance.
