Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Borrower

A neighbor borrowed a laptop computer. When I asked for it back, she claims she doesn't know where it is and this has been going on for about 6 months now. Now she will not return my calls. What can I do to get the computer back?

Re: Borrower

You have two choices. Either you can sue her for the value of the computer or file an action to seek the return of the computer. That type of action is called a Replevin Action. However, I suggest you sue for the value in small claims court. I suggest you attempt to negotiate with the neighbor before hand if you can. It sounds as if the computer was lost, stolen or damaged.
